Christian Eriksen has struggled somewhat to find a consistent spot in Conte’s XI. The attacking midfielder started against Fiorentina in the season opener. He then managed only 10 minutes combined in the other two games.
The Dane started for the national team against the Faroe Islands and scored from the penalty spot.
Following the game, the Dane spoke with Tipsbladet and said:
“I surely do not hope to sit on the bench all autumn, it’s not my intention to do so and I hope it’s also not the intention of the club and manager.”
“There will be many matches to play. The Champions League starts just after we return from the national teams and I’m sure I’ll play a lot. It depends a lot on the people abroad, and I expected this.”
Eriksen will be hoping to turn his fortune around this season.
