The Danish midfielder moved to Inter from Tottenham during the winter transfer window of 2020. A slow start to his Inter career sparked exit talks in a matter of just one year.
Eriksen told TV2sports that he struggled a lot in the early days at Inter. And due to lack of game-time made things “Annoying”.
“It was the hardest and most demanding season of my career. I really wanted to fight for my place and I always have. I was sure that if my chance came, I would probably try to grab it.”
“It was mentally difficult. I came to Inter to play football and, when you aren’t allowed to do it, it’s annoying.”
“It was like going up and down continuously, but now I feel like I have recovered well.”
“Being an Inter player has always been nice, but the best moment is being able to play more. And now I’m having a great time.”
Eriksen’s match-winning free-kick against AC Milan helped his confidence and morale. The midfielder then struck a number of good games as a starter for Inter. His evolvement has certainly impressed Conte, who now trusts him a lot more on the pitch.
