Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during his country’s opening game at Euro 2020 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The ICD device sits under the skin and keeps track of a patient’s heart rate. The ICD delivers an electric shock to restore a normal heartbeat if an abnormal rhythm is detected.
“Christian Eriksen cannot be given the all-clear to play in Italy,” Braconaro said on a radio show in Naples.
“If the player has the defibrillator removed, confirming the pathology is resolved, then he can return to play for Inter.”
Eriksen is currently in his hometown enjoying some family time. It is rumored that he will return to Ajax where the rules regarding ICD and implants differ from Italy. It is also rumored that he may be given an administrative position within Denmark’s national football team.
Whatever the future holds for Eriksen, the utmost priority would safety and well-being of the player.
