Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for Inter through a superb volley on the edge of the box into the bottom corner. An absolute stunner!
Here more about what the Bosnian had to say in an interview with Inter TV below.
“I saw the ball come and I said to myself ‘now I’ll try’ and it went well. I think it’s one of my best goals in my career. I think we certainly didn’t start well tonight, but the defeat in Turin didn’t affect us.
“We knew it was going to be difficult today, then we conceded that unfortunate goal. And then we woke up. The hug with Gosens after his goal? I think it is normal that if someone is in difficulty you have to help them. The season is long and every player is important.
“I’m happy for Robin that he scored, also because he always gives his best. A goal can help build confidence. Now with Atalanta we have to prepare well and hope to finish in the best possible way.”
It’s crazy that Dzeko could take a chance like this, and then miss an easy header later in the game. Overall, a match to remember for Dzeko as he scored a goal, won a penalty and then grabbed an assist.
If it wasn’t for Dimarco playing out of his skin, Dzeko would’ve been the best on field.
