The question of Stefan de Vrij’s renewal seems to have been resolved with an affirmative. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutch defender said yes to the renewal proposal sent by the Nerazzurri. This means he is ready to join the Beneamata until June of 2025. The former Lazio player has been with Inter since 2018 and he is considered an important locker room presence.
De Vrij let club management know that he intends to accept Beppe Marotta’s proposal of a two-year contract at the same salary he earns now, which is around 4 million euros net per season. There will be a signing meeting soon between the defender and club management. For Inter, it is a first step for the reassembling the defense for next season, with Milan Skriniar on his way to Paris and with Francesco Acerbi’s renewal negotiations on the horizon.
Last summer Inter spoke for the first time about its renewal with Rafaela Pimenta, who had inherited the power of attorney from Mino Raiola. Since then, the Dutchman joined Federico Pastorello’s team. They offered him some possible opportunities abroad, including two from the the Premier League. Yet in the end, De Vrij’s affection for Inter prevailed, even with less starts on the pitch this season.
