The former Inter coach De Boer was interviewed by Algemeen Dagblad in which he spoke about his experience at Inter:
“I wanted to change the whole structure and culture because the club hadn’t won anything for a long time. I completely immersed myself in this, I really wanted to work with the players.”
“However, I was dealing with a rotten group and I was not allowed to throw out some players. In this I may have been wrong because I should have pushed a little more. Maybe I wanted to be friendly with everyone.”
