Former Inter striker Hernan Crespo defended Laautaro Martinez in his recent interview. The Argentinian legend explained that he perfectly understands the period that Lautaro is going through.
“In the career of a striker there are always more or less prolific periods. There are games in which you only touch a ball once in the game and score the goal of your life. Then there are cases where even if you shoot ten times on goal you don’t score. ”
Hernan Crespo stated that the poor form of the entire team in the last month is also part of the reason why Matinez is underperforming. When asked what Lautaro needs to get his form back, he answered:
“It’s easy – a goal. When he scores one, seven or eight will follow. He is a very good striker, followed by the best European teams. Still, he decided to stay and compete for Inter. He is strong with his right and left foot, and also good in the air. Of course, now he is going through a tough period, but he still has his qualities.”
Crespo also stated that that the best thing for Lautaro is go get as many playing minutes as possible. Former Inter striker also emphasized the importance of the support that Martinez must receive from coach, teammates, and fans.
