Coach Antonio Conte spoke to UEFA.com ahead of the Europa League final against Sevilla. Conte focused on the positive aspects of the season. He also explained how his side overcame the demise of an early Champion’s League exit.
“It’s been a positive season for us so far. We’ve done incredible things and have made major improvements. We’ve managed to get to the Europa League final, despite the small disappointment of not getting through the Champions League group stage.”
“Only the best teams get to the final. It’s always important to be able to say that to the lads, at the end of the game, that we don’t have any regrets.”
“We’re playing against a team with more experience and the most trophies in this competition in the last decade. We’ll need to always be aware, but also play our own game with enthusiasm and courage, as we’ve done until now.”
“We need to show that we’re the best if we want to win the trophy.”
