Inter manager Antonio Conte spoke to the media following Inter’s disappointing 2-1 loss to rivals Juventus which put the old lady back at the top of Serie A.

Paulo Dybala opened the scoring before Lautaro Martinez equalised from the spot. However, substitute Gonzalo Higuain made sure of all three points for Juventus deep into the second half.

On Sensi & the injury:

“We paid for Sensi’s injury the moment he left the pitch because we lost the line. After this we didn’t start the second half well even though the match was even.”

On the match:

“They scored, they showed all their heavy artillery and experience in managing the match. I have nothing to say to the guys, who really gave everything. We have a long way to go to match them.”

“We must grow. I’m proud of the commitment, the game was balanced: we could have scored just like them. We had a chance to draw, but they put their experience and international caliber to good use. Well done, we’ll roll up our sleeves and continue to work.”

On Juventus:

“As a coach I’ve always lost against Juve, it happened to me with Arezzo, Atalanta and now with Inter. But they’re a great team, I’m disappointed I lost but congratulations to them.”

On Inter moving forward:

“We have to be proud of what we are doing. We lost against a strong team, and we have to continue on that path of growth.

Sometimes we are too instinctive, this is part of the process. We didn’t deserve to lose against Barcelona and Juventus, but in the end we lost.

“If you lose there is a reason, but I am very proud of what the players have given. I think the fans should be happy with what they saw. They were better.”
