Roland Virkus has raised the white flag. The sporting director of Borussia Moenchengladbach, interviewed by Sport1, has been definitively resigned to the idea of seeing Marcus Thuram leave the team on a free transfer in the forthcoming offseason. “We have decided to let go of Marcus Thuram,” he said.
“We have to accept that when it comes to bigger clubs, that’s where he could go to play,” Virkus continued. “The fact that players will leave us at zero is not a positive situation and I cannot sweeten it”.
Thuram, as you may recall, is on Inter’s shopping list along such other major clubs as Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich: tough competition for die Fohlen.
