Inter legend, Giuseppe Bergomi was present on ‘Sky Calcio Show’ where he discussed keeping Hakan in the same role even when Brozovic returns.
Bergomi, who featured 754 times for Inter in all competitions over a 20 year period, went on further to speak about Calhanoglu and his friend Riccardo Ferri. Ferri was appointed to the role of Inter Club Manager on July 25 2022, replacing Lele Oriali.
Here are his words about Hakan.
“Calhanoglu? I really trust Riccardo Ferri who told me that in training he was the player with the most temperament, who went to retrieve the balls. He is doing well, I would think about it a lot before removing him from that role, at least in the last three decisive games of the year.”
Very true words being spoken, and something Inzaghi will have to think about in the coming weeks. Brozovic should return from injury prior to the World Cup, so we should expect him to make a couple of appearances for Inter.
The main question is, does Hakan hold his spot or does Inzaghi move Hakan to make way to Brozovic? We will soon see.
Further in the show, Bergomi went on to speak about Barella.
“Now Barella is having fun, just look at the smile he had after the goal. The attitude is now the right one, he took criticism because the attitude was not that of a European-level footballer, now it is.”
Barella is on track for a splendid Serie A season. In just 12 appearances, he has already notched up 5 goals and 4 assists. In comparison to last campaign, Barella provided 3 goals and 12 assists. So you can already see how much more he has contributed in such a short period.
