According to Tuttomercatoweb, a bid from the Blues of Chelsea would have been accepted by Cagliari’s management.
Chelsea’s offer consists of a 50M Euros direct transfer that was reportedly accepted by Nicolo Barella’s club. However, reports say that the 21 year old would have refused the move for family reasons.
In fact, Barella would ideally prefer to stay in Italy, close to his family and would not be interested in making a move outside of Italy. Cagliari who are close to signing Nahitan Nandez from Boca Junior as his replacement, don’t see any objection in parting ways with the Italian midfielder.
With Inter, Juve and Napoli on the race to signing the youngster, it is most likely that Nicolo will leave Cagliari next summer with a move to one of those three Serie A giants.
