Inter players Asamoah & Stefan De Vrij took to the media after the 0-0 stalemate in Germany to voice their thoughts on a half-decent result, with plenty left to do back home.
Kwadwo Asamoah on Frankfurt, and the reverse fixture:
“It was a tough match, It wasn’t easy to play in this atmosphere tonight. We had good chances in the first half, while they were more attacking in the second half and we struggled to keep possession. 0-0 is a good result that allows us to fight for qualification at home. Unfortunately, I’ll be suspended for the return leg but I have full faith in my teammates.”
Stefan De Vrij on the importance of not conceding:
“It’s important not to have conceded even if we did have chances to score, particularly in the first half. It’s great to play in these type of stadiums for the atmosphere. It was a great challenge and our defence put in a good performance. We’re the first team not to lose here in the Europa League. It will be an open game in the second leg. We played well and dealt well with their pressure. It’s important to continue on this path on Sunday as well.”
