Alexis Sanchez may be out for over two months according to Mundo Deportivo. The Chilean suffered an ankle injury during an International friendly against Colombia.
The 30-year-old was on the end of a heavy challenge from Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado during the 0-0 stalemate. A statement released from the Chile football federation confirmed the diagnosis was dislocated tendons and ligament damage.
Alexis Sanchez is back in Italy, where he will undergo further tests with Inter and decide on the next step in treatment, which could even be surgery.
Sanchez has only appeared in an Inter jersey four times this season. The Chilean has been battling fitness issues under newly appointed Antonio Conte. He’s managed to score one goal in Serie A as well as showing great determination against Barcelona in the Champions League.
The future of Alexis looks uncertain. Wether Inter will give him more time to prove himself or not after his loan is unclear.
