Inter defender Alesasndro Bastoni was substituted in the 44th minute of the first half of the game vs Roma due to twisting his right ankle. That happened after an aerial duel with his national teammate Nicolo Zaniolo. The 22-year-old defender left the pitch in tears. Inter has not yet made additional comments. This will probably happen tomorrow after the results of the medical examination.
Bastoni will miss Inter’s next two games due to the suspension that he received for insulting the referee in the Milan derby. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Italian defender might also not be ready for the important clash versus Liverpool. Inter host the English team next Wednesday, so Bastoni will have just one week to return from the injury.
In case Bastoni is not ready for Liverpool, there are two options for Simone Inzaghi. The first one is the back three that played the second half tonight. Danilo D’Ambrosio to play at RCB, Milan Skriniar as LCB, with De Vrij in the middle. The other option is with Skriniar as RCB, De Vrij in the middle and Dimarco as LCB.
