Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed that Inter will NOT be making any deadline day move for Roma’s Edin Dzeko.
“Apart from a meeting between the directors, we never got into the detailed parts of the negotiations.”
“I still reconfirm today that there will be no entries and exits. Our transfer window is close.”
“We are counting on this important group of players.”
Marotta ruled out a move for Christian Eriksen during this winter Mercato.
“When you are at a big club, there are no starters and substitutes or reserves,” he continued. “They all are starters.”
“Conte had an intuition in changing his [Eriksen] role and Eriksen himself is a serious professional who’s responding really well.”
Marotta reconfirmed that the market is closed for Inter.
“We are facing an extraordinary event. The pandemic has had a strong impact and the model of the past is not sustainable. We must adapt to this change as a whole.”
“We will not entertain any negotiations for big transfers and big salaries.”
