Handanovic – 6.5 – Can’t really fault him on the goal, other than that didn’t have to work overly hard today.

Skriniar – 7.5 – Solid as per usual. Rarely puts a foot wrong.

Ranocchia – 6.3 – With De Vrij still missing, he is performing out of his skin and making sure we always know we have a solid back up.

D’Ambrosio – 6 – Not as solid as him showing against Lecce but still had a decent game and recovered well in the final 30 mins after being mostly at fault for the goal.

Asamoah – 6.5 – Once again looked a little exposed in defence but made some great attacking runs. Can still keep possession of the ball even when surrounded by more than one defender.

Candreva – 6 – Conte’s Candreva. It would have been nearly impossible to replicate that Lecce performance but dealt very well with getting back defensively today. Didn’t see the ball on the right hand side as often as we did last week, perhaps Conte’s doing to throw off the opposition.

Brozovic – 6.4 – Looked angry and at times unfocused. A borderline malicious challenge on ‘friend’ Raja got him an early booking but grew into the second half and was very good at picking the ball up.

Sensi – 8 -Made up for a sluggish opening 20 mins by becoming the best on the park again for the rest of the match. Sublime, smart turn to get us the penalty for the winner.

Vecino – 6 – More invisible this week. Rightfully subbed out and I think we will gradually see coming off the bench.

Lautaro – 6.6 – Got his first goal for the season and made some great runs dragging defenders. Needs to work on his hold up play, and maybe cut out the turns with his back to goal so often.

Lukaku – 6.2 – Grew into the game today but that famous first touch let him down a couple of times. However held up play well in the second half and was a perfect penalty both body language and finishing wise. Silencing the racial Cagliari crowed.

Politano – 6.8 – Came on and was a breath of fresh air. A player of his flight and freshness coming on as a sub in Conte’s system is perfect for holding a lead.

Godin – Came on and made his debut for a few mins. Was good to see him on the pitch.

Barella – 6.5 – Very solid impact. Broke tackles, created space WITH the ball to move forward and allowed us more time in the opposing half as the clock winded down. A starting place is inevitable and sooner rather than later.
