With the never ending, vicious cycle of rumours, Anthony wraps up the weekend that saw the headlines change by the hour, adding little integrity & credibility to Inter’s mercato plans.

IL NINJA STAYING PUT!

Raja Nainggolan has been quick to dismiss the ludicrous rumours circulating the tabloids that he is set to depart Inter only after just one season with the club. Di Marzio reported yesterday and the day before that ‘Il Ninja’ is not in Antonio Conte’s plan for the 19/20 campaign which turned a lot of heads and pricked a lot of ears amongst the Inter faithful.

Despite the claims, many fans were skeptical about the news, having remembered Raja being one of Conte’s prime transfer targets during his two years at Chelsea. These same fans would have been glad to wake up to positive reinforcement from the former Roma midfielder.

“I am not talking about the transfer market, I have always been on a team for many years and it would be strange if I left Inter after just one season,” Raja said to Sky Sport.

“I have a three-year contract so I am calm.

“Inter are a club that wanted me and they are trying to grow. I would like to grow with them, let’s see how it goes. I have always been happy where I have been.

I am someone who wants to win, so the club obviously decided to change the manager to improve. The management told me all about how good Conte is.”

BARELLA DEAL CLOSE!

Nicola Barella is getting closer and closer to becoming an Inter player with news breaking via Gazzetta dello Sport that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has scheduled the penultimate meeting with Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini for sometime tomorrow in Milan. The news can only mean one thing, that Nicola Barella to Inter is in its senior phase of negotiations.

The news comes on the back of Barella’s debut goal for the national side in a routine 0-3 away win against Greece, where Barella was instrumental and gained the attention of many around the world with a sublime performance.

The only discrepancy that stands is the overall transfer fee, which Cagliari values at €50 million whilst Inter are leaning more towards the €30 million in cash + one of either Dimarco & Bastoni on free loans with an option to buy back.

Former Inter forward and current Jiangsu striker Eder, who is still owned by Suning is also expected to be included in the deal.
