Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic left manager Luciano Spalletti in an awkward place last week as he was unavailable for selection against Frosinone.

Fortunately for all, Borja Valero was up to the task, partnering up Vecino and taking on the duties of creative distributor and playmaker against Frosinone, showing a performance full of great character.

That was as good as it would get for the Spaniard as he was forced off in the second half complaining of issues with his thigh.

With these new developments, Luciano now turns his attention to Roberto Gagliardini and Joao Mario, as the final two obvious replacements in that midfield double pivot or three-man setup.

If Spalletti chooses to play his preferred 4-2-3-1 against Roma he will most likely use Gagliardini in that double pivot role alongside Mattias Vecino where as Joao Mario could be implemented in the 4-3-3 alongside Vecino & Nainggolan.

Gagliardini & Mario have 19 & 20 appearances to their names respectively this season.
