According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli and Juventus have shown interest in Inter captain Mauro Icardi post the transfer saga. Napoli are offering a €9M plus bonuses salary, but Inter are more tempted to sell him to Juventus instead.
It was reported that the Argentine international is not going to transfer outside of Italy due to his wife’s, Wanda Nara, custody battle with her ex-husband, Maxi Lopez, which restricts the kids from departing the country.
According to Tutto’s Tancredi Palmeri, Napoli have been laying low for a while now and have stepped forward after the tensions between Inter and Icardi. This not the first time Napoli have approached the Argentine and now it is reported that they are offering a salary worth €9M per season, plus another €2M in performance-related bonuses. This would make Icardi the second highest-paid player in Serie A, behind Cristiano Ronaldo!
However, Inter are leaning more towards a sale to Juventus. This comes after Juve director Fabio Paratici confirmed he sent a message to Icardi’s agent Wanda last summer noting they were interested in a transfer.
This transfer would infuriate many Nerazzurri supporters to see their former captain and star player go to their arch rivals, but it would not be the first time these clubs have struck surprising deals either.
However, Juventus are also one of the only Italian clubs capable of paying the €110M release clause fee.
