The Nerazzurri goalkeeper Daniele Padelli spoke on InterTV’s microphones following his victory in the Italian Cup against Benevento. These are his words:
“I’m happy, it was a great team performance, we did well, especially in the first half, then we stretched a bit, but it’s normal: we’re happy, it was a very good performance. More clinical than the challenge against Pordenone last year, when we were not able to score despite about 500 chances on the net (laughs).”
Your opinion on the progress of the match tonight?
“The important thing was the performance: it was there, we scored a lot of goals even if we suffered two. A little ‘I’m sorry, but that’s okay. It’s never nice to concede goals, but the goals are made and taken: this is not the problem. I had to be ready and it was not obvious, since I had not played for an official game for a long time. The goal was to finish this match.”
In the quarterfinals you will play against Lazio:
“They too will have to face a great team, Inter, so let’s start at par, we know that this is an important competition: winning few games, we play the chance to grab a title that has been missing from Inter for a long time. This is a competition that we have to take advantage of, we are aware of that.”
